Mark Robinson enters his 12th season as head men's cross country coach at Catholic University. Prior to becoming head coach, he was the middle-distance and distance coach assisting Jerry McGee, the head coach of the men's track team, from 1983 to 1996.

During that time, the Cardinals produced scores of conference champions in distances ranging from 800 meters to 5000 meters, won five East Coast Athletic Conference distance medley titles, and garnered All-American honors 12 times. Included in this list are Tom Caffrey, NCAA Division III national 1500 meter champion in 1992, and Paul Drumgoole, two-time national runner-up in the 800 meters. A Catholic University alumnus, Robinson is the CUA record holder in the one mile (4:07.6) and the 800 meters (1:46.00).

In addition to his coaching duties, Robinson is director of community building and leadership development at IMPACT Silver Spring, a non-profit organization that works toward supporting and empowering community members to work collaboratively across lines of race, class and culture on challenging community issues. He has more than 20 years experience in the areas of conflict resolution, community organizing, program administration and organizational development.
